*When you have finished doing your project, you'll write a resume for yourself too!

Stage 1: Predicting the Qualities of Great People

Write the title of the project and your name on a page (you can use Word or a regular page).
Write "Stage 1 - Predicting the Qualities of Great People".
Copy (from the list below) the qualities that you think apply to great, important, famous people in general:

Stage 2: Choosing a "Person of the Year"

Choose a famous, successful, great or important person to learn about. Use one of three sites to help you choose:
YOUR "PERSON OF THE YEAR" MAY BE SOMEONE WHO ISN'T FAMOUS. IT MAY BE SOMEONE YOU KNOW OR HAVE HEARD ABOUT, OR EVEN SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY.
Write "Stage 2 - Choosing a Person of the Year" at the top of your page.
Write the name of the person you have chosen for your project.
Write a few sentences about why you chose this person for your project.

Stage 3: Writing a Report and a Resume

Use Google to find material about the person you chose.
Write "Stage 3 - Writing a Report and a Resume" at the top of your page.

Write a paragraph about each of these:
- the person's qualities. (see Stage 1 for a list of qualities).
- the ways in which the life was remarkable, surprising or admirable.
- the human qualities that were most influential in shaping the way this person lived and influenced his or her times.
- the most important lesson/s you might learn from the way this person lived.
- Was your person a "hero?" Why? Why not? How is a hero different from a celebrity?
- Write a paragraph explaining why you think this person deserves to be chosen as the "Person of the Year".

Stage 4: Presenting Your Work

Present your work in writing: It should include:
- Cover page. Title of project, your name, class, date.
- Table of contents.
- Introduction. (Introduce your Person of the Year.)
- Sections of the Project (Include here stages 1, 2 and 3 of the project that you did)
- Bibliography. (Don't forget to cite all the sources and internet sites you used in your project)
- Reflection. Write a page in which you express what you learned/gained through doing this project. Each person of the group must write his/her OWN PAGE!
- Division of work: This should be a page which explains exactly what each person of the group did in the project.
- Appendices.
- Illustrations.
