Michal
The seven branches of the menorah are made of pure gold that The Jewish people carried in the desert. Today the menorah is the emblem of the State of Israel. It was one of the holy tools that was put in the Jewish temple and no one could copy it. It burned all the time. At the time of the first temple King Solomon put another ten menorahs like the original menorah. When the first temple was destroyed those ten were destroyed but just the original menorah remained. There is a picture of it in "Titus" gate in Rome to remember when their army came back to Rome after they conquered the people in Israel and destroyed the Jewish temple.
The menorah is a Jewish symbol. The researchers said that the menorah source is the "tree of life"- The almonds tree. This tree is connected to the Jewish tradition in the way that this tree grows faster than the other trees and because of it symbolizes the value of life.
The menorah is the symbol of our country because of the wonderful past of the Jewish people and the fact it isn't found in another countries or religious symbols. In the symbol we have the menorah and under its the name of the country Israel like in the temple and next to it two olive branches which symbolize peace.
